Sometimes a company's contribution may go on for a long time unrecognized by the media, or the public as being a significant contribution. The Bogen Corporation, Tiffen Incorporated, along with the Ritz Corporation / Cameras West have been three such organizations as this.
When a company makes a decision to loan equipment to anyone, it is equipment, that can no longer be sold as NEW. Companies know this fact, only too well. I would like to give special recognition and my thanks for their willingness to extend these privileges to me.
From the very beginning. the Bogen Corporation through their Metz and Gitzo divisions, provided me with sizable discounts so that my meager income could afford some very needed equipment. Their contribution would not end there! I would later be introduced to the 40MZ2 flash, a Metz product. So that I might be able to evaluate this device further, one was provided to me to use for a year. This device proved to be much more versatile, than I had ever expected capable from a flash device. It would become a device of great interest to me, and I am very grateful to both the Bogen Corporation for providing me with this 40MZ2 device, as well as the Metz Company for producing such a high quality of product.
Like the Bogen Corporation, Tiffen Incorporated also began their involvement with my project of educating the handicap in photography by providing me with a complete set of Hollywood F/X filters to use and included an FL-D filter, an Enhancing Filter, and a Circular Polarizer filter. Their involvement has made it possible for me to include a more subtle side to photography, one that I am just begining to understand.
Concerning Ritz Cameras/Cameras West, over the past five years, they have granted me special discounts, usually only reserved for their employees long before I began to develop this collection of data. More recently, they took the initiative to open up their photo studios to me in order to provide me with more control over lighting conditions useful in evaluating a Flash Device's output of light.
