Seattle's KISS 106.1 FM Freeloader Contest Discriminates Against Legally Blind Contestant.

I am presenting this web page for those who may feel as appauled as I have been that any radio station might treat the handicap community in such an unfair manner as I was recently concerning KBKS 106.1 FM and their FREELOADER based contest called "The Great American Race". It is also my intent to inform you and to probably lower the expectations of anyone in the handicap community of any desire they may have of winning any contest put on by the Infinity Radio company and their owned and operated radio stations across the United States. If you still wish to participate in this Freeloader program, I have provided you with a direct link to what already appears to be a Network of Spies, that will provide you information of the Bonus Codes and the Password For The Day announced each day on their radio station. Since I live in Seattle, Washington, all of my comments are in reference to to the above named radio station located at 1000 Dexter Avenue North, Suite 100
Seattle, WA 98109; their General Manager, being a McDonald Davis.

KISS 106.1 FM, in Seattle, Washington on August 2, 2004 began a contest called "The Great American Race", which incorporated their already established Freeloader Progrem; someting I did not know at the time. The existance of this Freeloader Program goes all the way back to at least February, 26, 2003 as documented on the Fatwallet.Com website.

How Should The Contest Have Run: (Click Here).

Those that knew of this website had a distinct advantage over every other contestant to this Great American Race contest, not to mention their FREELOADER program, in that one person could listen to the radio station for Bonus Codes and Passwords For The Day and then post them to this website for everyone else to see and from which they could gain their point values assocaitated with this contest without being required to actually listen to the radio station nor in attending many of their Bonus Code Events. When Bonus Code Events were held KISS remained relatively idle to assuring a level of Fairness to their contest, while assuring people that only people that played the game fairly would be the winner to their contest.

I have included the specific website address to substantiate all of my claims here, and I have retained the emails received from KISS 106.1 FM (Eli Christopher, New Media and KISS Website Administrator; and Marc Jones, Program Director) to substantiate their knowledge of this website and how they did very little to assure a Fair Contest.

Their travesty of injustice is compounded even more when their actions handicap an already handicapped contestant by not informing them to at least their knowledge that there might very well be cheaters found on the Internet at the start of their contest. People are acting out of TRUST because of what and how a radio station conducts its self in the Public Eye. Is it fair that a handicap contestant should not be given assistance to overcome a disability, and where that assistance should be constant over time even if it means that they will probably win the contest?

The radio station's General Manager McDonald Davis, while expressing a sense of amazement for what is required in time for the handicapped to participate in their contest, believes that they have conducted their contest legally? He would go on to ask me for what I would like him to do in this matter, but made no suggestions of his own; when I did not know what options might exist within his power to make.

This practice of sharing codes had been going on for some time prior to the contest beginning, dating back to February 26, 2003 on the FatWallet.Com and they acknowledge that they have known it for quite some time. The Message Board that began on this "Freeloader Contest" began on page 25, and continues into page 69.

Yet, when I brought it to their attention, they seemed to shrug it off, stating that they had been aware of it, but assured me that no one cheating in the game would be awarded any prizes. How can you make that assurance when your own people say, that they can not prove when people are cheating? And if you can trip up people into using False Codes by those reading FatWallet.Com, why were they not doing it? With very few exceptions, they were not doing this.

I do not want them to "Shape Up" next time, I would like for them to "face the music" now; to account for their mistakes now and learn now, and it seems as if only by having to sustain a major fine or to have to pay for a duplicate set of first prizes will make most indelible impression

I attended all but two of these Bonus Code Events held during this contest period: (one event not attended was by my choice), but one event not attended was because I was never informed of the event. It was only from my stumbling across this FatWallet.Com website that I would learn of this past Bonus Code event and of this widespread Network of Spies concerning KBKS-FM's Contest Programs.

These Bonus Code Events should have been the element of the contest to assure, that in deed, only those who played the contest Fairly could win; meaning the use of Compound Bonus Codes at every Bonus Code Event along with giving additional Bonus Codes over the radio. There were already Bonus Codes that had a much larger point value, and they did have Compound Bonus Codes produced for the contest that they could have been used for each and every Bonus Code Event, but only for two or three Bonus Code Events were these Compound Bonus Codes ever used.

I would like to ask for your help in compelling this radio station into doing what is right.
Write a letter to KISS 106.1 FM, McDonald Davis (Radio Station's General Manager). If any sincere attempt is made to help correct this past contest's unfair practice it demonstrated in this contest, this web page will be removed from my website.
